According to AETMIS, it is necessary to dispel the scientific uncertainty surrounding the efficacy of hyperbaric oxygen therapy in the management of cerebral palsy.

In fact, the Agency states that to date the efficacy of hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) in the management of cerebral palsy has not been scientifically demonstrated. However, in this report produced at the request of the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux, the Agency recognizes that uncertainty persists.  AETMIS recommends that further research on the different aspects of this issue should be supported in Québec.
